Four Thousand Weeks by Oliver Burkeman
A while ago, several members of Not Another Book Club discussed the finitude of our lives, and specifically:
- how we’re each going about balancing accepting our limits of time and attention without giving up on living a meaningful life or engaging with the challenges of our world today
- Which activities contain intrinsic worth for each of us (even if we’re not particularly good at them)
- and how for most of us, prioritisation isn’t about separating what matters from what doesn’t matter, but rather about choosing to ignore the vast majority of the activities that DO matter to us, so that we are able to engage deeply with the handful of things that we can realistically manage
Thank you to Oliver Burkeman for choosing to write Four Thousand Weeks, the book that inspired our conversation, with some of his own limited time: https://lnkd.in/gwufbxTJ
