Welcome to Not Another Book Club!

We set out to be a book club with a difference - Not Another Book Club. And we’ve been meeting and discussing great topics since early 2021.

We treat books as gateways for meaningful conversations, personal reflections, and a collective commitment to understanding, challenging, and reshaping our norms and values. Our discussions carry a distinctive blend of intellectual curiosity, empathy, and a shared vision for positive change. Here’s how it works

• We pick 8-9 books a year to anchor our discussions, which happen most months, skipping school holidays

• We don’t actually discuss the books - we discuss the topics and issues raised by the books

• Reading the book is optional - maybe you’re familiar with the topic already, or would rather listen to podcasts or watch some videos and bring those perspectives into the discussion

• We choose a range of topics - from politics to technology to business and psychology and even economics and the climate - and we explore them using a combination of fiction and non-fiction.

• We believe that the DISCUSSION is important, not just the reading. Something special happens when you meet and unpack a topic. When you listen to how others have interpreted and engaged with it. This is often the richest learning and massively increases the value and insight we take away from our reading
